I currently hold a research and teaching post in the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University. I have a passion for assisting learners with their educational development and am committed to delivering individualised learning to encourage learners to achieve their full potential.
Tutoring experience
I have worked in higher education in research/teaching roles for the past 18 months and prior to that worked in local authority children’s services for six years. This experience has enabled to develop effective skills in working with children and young people of all ages.
My experience as the chair of a primary school governing body for three years has also given me an extensive insight into the current education system in the UK today.
Approach to tutoring
I believe it is important to communicate with learners on a level that is accessible yet challenging in order to improve their knowledge and understanding of the learning material or topic concerned. I am also a keen advocate of individualised learning, which ensure that methods and approaches are appropriately tailored to the needs of the learner.
