Mr Venkata Bhogadi
I'm a year 5 medical student (penultimate year) at the University of Cambridge with a previous bachelor's degree in Biology from McGill University in Canada. I am on a national scholarship from my home country for my performance in A Levels.
My favourite passion outside of medicine is photography which I do as a small self employed business outside school hours.
Tutoring experience
I've tutored medical students in the year below for over a year on a voluntary basis. I've also given lectures to large groups of students at the A Level back in my home country, and I've tutored many of my friends and family in a casual context.
Approach to tutoring
I let the student lead at first for me to identify what type of learner they are. For example, some people like teaching in a didactic manner while others prefer a strongly interactive style. Or some people like topics in depth with scientific basis while others like broad picture and relevance to areas such as medicine for example.
Once I gauge that, I prefer to teach in an old school way with whiteboard/pen and paper. This will be supplemented with prepared material on the computer for a comprehensive understanding of the topic area.
