I possess a diverse background in the field of Literature, and have been working in writing and proofreading services, as well as administration, for over 15 years. Currently employed as a magazine Copywriter in the Health & Wellness sector, my occupational history includes Administrative Co-ordination in both the educational and charitable causes sectors too.

There is little that I am not familiar with, or able to instruct on, when it comes to the written word. I am also currently halfway through a part-time Master of Arts in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies with the University of London.

Tutoring experience

Four years, inclusive of: KS1, KS2, and 11+; KS3; GCSE; and A Level.

Approach to tutoring

My teaching style aims to draw out weaknesses and focus on them through directional discussion in order to lead to greater understanding and, indeed, appreciation for the subject/topic at hand. I thoroughly believe in the benefits of reading the material aloud, also, rather than sticking with a dry perusal and the taking of notes only. But notes must indeed be taken! Research proves those students who take notes succeed.

I structure my lessons around what has just been taught and what will next be taught in students` school lessons, so that the two methods of instruction are complimentary to one another. Homework will be set, but not an onerous amount.

My overall goal is to nurture students` love of Literature in general, which will stay with them into the real-world scenario, as well as achieve those sought-after grades.
