I am currently tutoring pupils across the age and ability spectrum in English, Maths and the 11+. Some of my pupils are home-schooled; others simply want the tuition to supplement their school education.
Tutoring experience
I worked as a secondary school teacher for six and a half years. My PGCE was in History and English. Although I specialise in these subjects, my most recent teaching role emulated a primary school teacher within a secondary school. Consequently, I have taught various subjects across the age and ability spectrum. Since September, I have concentrated upon delivering one-to-one tuition in the core subjects and have prepared pupils for the 11+ examinations.
Approach to tutoring
I form strong relationships with tutees and their parents. After tutorials, I usually provide parents with an update on their child's progress. I use a range of resources to suit different learning styles and encourage tutees via praise and rewards.
